Micron® P400e high endurance SSD
Long-term reliability for systems that are always running.
Going above and beyond the features found in standard SSDs, the Micron® P400e High Endurance SSD takes your system's 24/7 performance to the next level. Designed to meet the intense data needs of around-the-clock power users and business servers, the Micron P400e High Endurance SSD delivers long-term performance for systems that are always running. For video on demand applications, home video servers, and businesses that rout programs and data through a 24/7 server, the Micron P400e High Endurance SSD delivers steady-state performance you can count on. Write 175TB over the life of the drive—that's high endurance.*
More NAND than you'll likely ever need.
The Micron P400e makes full use of over-provisioning, a feature that loads the drive with more NAND than its marketed specifications. In most SSDs, when basic functions like TRIM and garbage collection are being performed, they often consume valuable NAND, which limits complete use of the drive. Over-provisioning allows the drive to perform faster than it would otherwise, especially when placed in high endurance environments. With over-provisioning, get the full value and capacity out of your drive, even if it's running background functions.
Data path protection. Custom firmware. Advanced support.
The Micron P400e also features technology that's not normally available in standard SSDs: advanced data path protection. This technology helps prevent corruption along data paths, while also helping to reduce data failure rates in applications that are always running. The Micron P400e is also built with our very own NAND and custom firmware that we've engineered to work together and deliver optimal drive performance. And if that wasn't enough, the Micron P400e also includes high-level technical support, so in the rare event that something goes wrong, we'll hold ourselves accountable to fix it.
Micron: End-to-end quality.
Because we're a worldwide leader in NAND manufacturing and development, our focus is on quality. From hundreds of prerelease validation tests to more than a thousand hours of endurance testing, our drives are tested for reliability from start to finish. With one of the industry's most stringent quality test programs and over 30 years of manufacturing experience, we understand what it takes to make a high endurance SSD.

What's the difference between a high endurance SSD and a standard SSD?
With the availability of high endurance SSDs on Crucial.com, we're often asked what the difference is between a high endurance SSD and a standard SSD. You're probably thinking, "Don't all SSDs have great endurance?"
Yep—they do. But while all of our SSDs deliver better performance, endurance, and reliability than traditional hard drives, only a very specific kind of SSDs are engineered to handle the intense demands of around-the-clock power users—and that's a good thing. Where most SSD owners use their systems for ten hours or less a day, five days a week, the power SSD user is constantly accessing data at a more frenzied rate, often via a server or workstation. Because of these drastic differences in use, high endurance SSDs are built to utilize technology that's often only needed by power users or business servers.
Going above and beyond the powerful features found in standard SSDs, high endurance SSDs offer the following features to ensure long-term reliability for steady-state (continuous) use:
- Advanced data path protection technology helps prevent data corruption and data failure in applications that are always running
- Over-provisioning loads the drive with more NAND than its marketed specifications and uses the extra NAND for garbage collection and TRIM. This feature allows the drive to perform faster than it would otherwise, especially when placed in high endurance environments.
- Higher TBW ratings enables you to write more data onto the drive over the course of its life. The TBW rating for our high endurance drive is over two times that of a standard SSD.
- Advanced technical support allows power users and server-based customers to receive specialized technical support for their applications. When necessary, qualified engineers are available to provide their expertise.
Most SSD users will never need these additional features, but for power users they can be essential. To help determine if a high endurance SSD is right for you, we've developed a flowchart with several questions.
