Custom Folder and Drive Icons
Drive icons are a fun way to add an element of personalization and fun to your Windows® or Mac® system when using a Crucial® portable SSD. Deploying custom icons on both Windows and macOS® involves different procedures due to the distinct nature of their operating systems.
To set custom folder icons in Windows:
- Prepare the custom drive icon files: Download and extract the desired drive icon file from the download links below, or find a personal icon of your choice and save it to your computer.
- Apply the icon to the folder: Connect the portable SSD, right-click on the folder to be customized in File Explorer, select "Properties," go to the "Customize" tab, and click "Change Icon." Browse to the location where you saved the file and select the file. Click "OK" to apply the icon to the drive.
To set a custom drive icon in macOS:
Prepare the custom drive icon files: Download and extract the desired drive icon file from the download links below, or find a personal icon of your choice and save it to your computer.
Apply the icon to the drive: Connect the external SSD, open Finder, locate the drive in the sidebar, and right-click (or Ctrl-click) on it. Choose "Get Info" to open the Info window. Drag and drop the icon file from its saved location onto the default drive icon at the top of the Info window. The custom icon will replace the default one for the drive.
